Does anyone know, where to buy a Performance Plug Wires 1/4-32 (designed for Rimfire Plug)- for The Rimfire V2 Spark Plug? I was gonna order everything from www.MjNFabrication.com, but unfortunatelly they are still closed :( I tried to google up some answers, but had no luck. Don't know where else to turn. Thank you
I forgot to say, that I know nothing about plugs and wires... just trying to help a friend, most enthusiastic hobbyist modeler from Evrope, whom I promissed to send plugs with wires for his experiments. He says he can't get such a thing overseas. Thanks for Advance Auto Part store tip, I'll check it out.
Kam, unless I read andulinka's post wrong, he wants smaller gauge wire for 1/4-32 spark plugs. I don't know what type of wire Advance would have that would be suitable for the miniature spark plugs. I have dealt with this outfit and they have small gauge, high voltage wire for miniature ignition systems. ->link<- gbritnell
For my last few engines I made a clip from brass tube and used a black auto vacuum elbow fitting made from silicon rubber as a boot. Looked good and kept the spark from sneaking away.
Here is the best approach, make your own, for this you will need high voltage wire, 15 K volts or higher, one option many modelers follow is to buy Multimeter test lead wire end cut it to length, if you want something better, then Silicon cable up to 35 Kvolts is the next level ( usually wire is sold in 100 yd rolls and are about 200.00), then buy some vacuum elbows from VACU-TITE part number 47410 fits nicely the 1/4-32 rimfire plugs. ( it is 1/8 " x 11/64"). They are made of black rubber, very good insulator and deal well with gasoline.
Now if this is a one off, I may be able to make him a set of cables for the cost of material, each elbow is about 2.90, cable is less than 1.00 per feet. Need to know how many, length ( he can always trim the ends). I have black and red color cables. Best regards.
Hello all...........I have a (BIG) bunch of 15,000 volt wire.....It is black and the diameter of the wire is .160 ........If you need some, I will send it to you for the cost of postage..... Dale Detrich djdtrh@cros.net
