I did a conversion last year for someone. I think we used the plans from Little Machine Shop. It was easy and there was very little alteration to the mill so it would be possible to go back to manual. We did not do the X,Y ball screws yet. Cash would not allow that but I highly recommend it. Use larger motors than you think you need to overcome the poorly machined ways. Gecko drives if you can afford them.
yep i fully agree i went with a company called probotix and next is a up grade to ball screws and a bigger table here is a link to probotix ->link<- i went with the monster kit and have a 4th axes that i still have to bulid as soon as i get som pics of it i will send them to david steve has helped me out in writeing some programs for me for the j 8 engine and they work great
