Hello all, I am building the Hercules engine and truthfully have always had crummy looking rocker arms. Seems everyone wants the bottom of the rocker to have a radius around the bearing point. Would someone share how they go about making this type of rocker? If I place the rocker on a flat pivot I can machine the radius but it does not end in a sharp corner like is shown in the plan. I have had no luck holding on to a rocker with the pivot point mounted horizontally. Any solutions would be really appreciated.

    Hi John,
I'm attaching the link to my Photobucket account. It has a series of pictures on making the rocker arms for my Holt engine. These were made from CRS and I wanted all the shape on them that was similar to the original cast parts. In the progression of pictures you can see how I started from a piece of stock, machined the curvature and profile on to the block, cut them off with a slitting saw, made a fixture for radiusing the ends and then machining them. After the machining was complete I hand filed and polished all the small machining steps until they were finished like you see in the final pictures. I hope this is what you are looking for. If you need any further information about my set-ups just let me know.
Hi David, Yes I will get those to you soon. Gbritnell, thank you for the pics and direction.
