I built Bob Shores Herky (Hercules) engine this past winter. It was first run sometime in December. I run it on straight Methanol and glow ignition. It is a screamer and turns at over 10,000 rpm. It was built pretty much to Bob's specs, except I mounted the crank in sealed ball bearings at both ends. I had a great time building it and recommend it to anyone seeking a moderately difficult project capable of high performance when accurately built. My thanks goes out to Bob for his design and the affordability of this little engine. It was a big hit at both the Cabin Fever and Names events. Ron Colonna
