Forest’s Gas Motor
A friend gave me a picture of an engine that was
originally natural or methane gas operated..
It was called Forest’s Gas Motor, from a Scientific American Supplement
dated March 4, 1884.
He wanted the action of the gas motor but wanted to run it on air,
The following is what I came up with.
My version has a
1” bore with a Teflon piston.
2” stroke
Double acting cylinder and
A spool type valve .
The flywheel was made from an old valve hand wheel

I finally finished it today 4/27/2010.
It runs much better than I thought it would.
All that’s left is clean up and some paint
