Ring
thinning tool......Use the hardest material that you
have.....Depression should be ding OD, amd the exact depth as the ring
thickness that you want....

with ring inserted....
I use a
1' x 30' belt sander and the tool to thin the rings to desired
thickness....The tool/drill spins the ring against the sanding
belt.....First snooth one side of the ring, then reverse the ring an
smooth the second side of the ring to the face of the tool......You will
feel the "load" of the sander reduce when you get the ring to the tool
thickness....
