The engine is a Stuart mill engine #S-50. The
bore is 5/8" and the stroke
is 1.25". The casting set comes with all the materials needed including
fasteners and gaskets. This is an excellent first project for anyone
wanting to build a steam engine. Beware, the taps and dies needed to
build
this engine are British Associated (BA). As I recall you will need to
purchase 3 taps and two dies to complete the project. Following is a
link
to the Stuart web page on this engine. I built this engine to give as a
gift to a friend who has been a super help with the model show I
sponsor.
The brickwork on the base is a plastic sheeting I found at a SHOPKO in
the
Christmas table top diorama materials.
